Night of Jazz – Established – January 2010

The Night of Jazz was established as a vehicle to assist with providing scholarships for graduating seniors at Worthing as an EE Worthing Senior High School Alumni Association event. Musical graduates such as Lloyd Hughes, Nelson Mills, Tommy Burton, etc. volunteer their talents for the event which has assisted in providing $200k+ in scholarships and programming to students.

**** Due to the pandemic the Night of Jazz was not held after 2019. The current planning is to resume this important event next year 2024 with all the excellence presented in the past ****

Criteria for scholarships

• Worthing graduate – school year
• College enrollment – University, college, Vocational school
• Essay – explaining goals and aspirations of the student
• Online interview with the Scholarship Committee

Number of Scholarships

• (2010 – 2019) – One hundred Sixteen (116)

• Pipeline to College
• Uniforms
• Business Courses – check writing, business plan, etc.
